Heroes of Newerth is now free to play, when a new customer signs up they get a basic account. The basic account exist of 15 heroes that change every week, but with an option to buy new heroes. The users who alredy bought Heroes of Newerth will have their account upgraded to Legacy accounts with all heroes locked up. This must be some sort of way to compete with League of Legends that have grown a lot in the recent months. The price of Heroes of Newerh have dropped recent weeks from $30 to  $10 and i guess this is the final step to make it free. Time will tell if this is the right move or not, personally i think this is exactly what  Heroes of Newerth need to attract new customers.
